This is an exciting opportunity to join the team to assess and deal with all types of claims for housing and council tax benefit.

This is a home-based role.

**Job title**:
Benefits Assessor

**What you’ll be doing**:
**- **Assess New Housing Benefit claims and deal with associated post in line with legislation and established procedures. keep up-to date with changes in legislation.**:

- **Assess Intervention (or similar claim type) cases at the appropriate times.**:

- **Assess changes in circumstances and cancellations in line with the regulations.**:

- **Organise individual workload to ensure that assessment time scales and team priorities are met.**:

- **Achieve targets and objectives in line with the Performance Management procedures.**:

- **Deal with telephone enquiries as required *may be required to contact claimants on occasions.**:
**What we are looking for**:

- **Minimum of 5 GCSE’s including Maths and English**:

- **Excellent communication skills at all levels, both written and verbal**:

- **Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines during peak periods**:

- **General computer skills and use of word based systems**:

- **Ability to work unsupervised**:
