**Brief Description of the Role**:
Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was one of the first wave sites for implementing Newborn Hearing Screening. This service started in March 2002 and is based in the Maternity Unit at Bradford Royal Infirmary. It is highly regarded locally and nationally for consistently achieving national QA standards.

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated and methodical person with excellent communication skills to join our existing screening team. The post holder will be required to undertake the screening of babies, record and collect data and liaise with parents and professionals in the hospitals.

Training will be provided for the successful applicant which will include undertaking and completing the Level 3 Hearing Screening Diploma and ECA (External Competence Assessment).

The successful applicant will be required to work 22 hours per week over a 4-week rolling rota (includes 2 weekends in 4). As most of the screening is carried out in the mornings the hours of work will be 8.00am - 2.30/3.00pm (although flexibility is required depending on the number of babies born on any given day).

**SKILL/QUALIFICATION REQUIRED**:
GCSE English and Mathematics (or equivalent)

Good organisational and excellent interpersonal skills

Ability to work at weekends

Experience of working in a hospital environment and/or with mothers and small babies is advantageous
