**MINIMUM NVQ2 QUALIFIED AND A MINIMUM OF 2 YEARS WORKING IN A PHARMACY SETTING. SUPERVISOR /MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE MINIMUM OF 2 YEARS**
**4 Days Per week working pattern will be Monday Tuesday and Wednesday 8.00am to 6.00pm at Bramham Medical Centre and one day at Micklefield Surgery either 2 half days 8.00am to 1.00pm or one full day.**
**A clean and full driving licence is needed and your own car to travel between sites**
**THE HOURLY RATE IS DEPENDANT ON EXPERIENCE AND COMPLETION OF A PROBATIONARY PERIOD, BUT CAN BE DISCUSSED AT INTERVIEW.**
**Job Summary**
- **To provide an efficient and accurate dispensing service to patients**:
- **To provide a responsive and friendly reception service for patients and visitors while ensuring reception runs smoothly and efficiently when working at branches.**:
- **To have a thorough knowledge of all Practice procedures.**:
- **To work in accordance of written protocols**
- **To observe strict confidentiality on all matters relating to the practice and it’s patients.**
- **To observe all requirements relating to CQC obligations and health & safety at work**
**Key Responsibilities & Duties**
Dispensing medication according to agreed protocols
Checking dispensed medicines to agreed protocols, ensure that all medicines and appliances dispensed are checked against the prescription and whenever there is doubt about the appropriateness of the item, or about the dose or labelling instructions to check with the authorising doctor or duty doctor.
Monitoring stock levels and ordering all medication from all suppliers as required and to ensure the most cost effective product is bought from those available
Storing goods received in the agreed stock control rotation and using cold storage facilities effectively.
Count prescriptions before the end of each day and following the filing system to effectively prepare the scripts ready for the end of the month, ensuring that the patient declaration on the reverse of the FP10 is duly filled in and signed by the patient.
To endorse all prescription forms as appropriate.
To promptly forward all invoices and dispensary related correspondence to the dispensary manager according to practice policy.
To operate efficient stock control appropriate to the needs of the practice with the objective of ensuring continuity of supply for patients and minimising wastage through out of date stock.
To ensure that drugs are stored in an appropriate manner in accordance with the accompanying instructions. Including **monitoring all temperatures on a daily basis and recording accurately on clarity.**
To ensure that all medication is ready for delivery in a timely manner and to liaise with delivery drivers to ensure medication is received by patients.
To ensure that general housekeeping work is maintained to high standards, including that all shelves and all work surfaces are regularly cleaned to maintain a high level of hygiene within the dispensary and that all dispensary equipment is kept clean and kept in good working order.
To ensure that refrigerated items are stored at the appropriate temperature.
To maintain full and accurate records of all dispensing in the agreed clinical system
To deal with queries regarding dispensing from external and internal sources, such as relayed from patients, pharmacies, or external agencies.
To undertake any necessary work as may be required and appropriate to maintain a high standard and efficient dispensing service.
To complete the compulsory CPD (Continuing professional development) as required by the dispensing qualification, CQC and the dispensing doctor's quality scheme
Secure and lock buildings when last to leave.
To ensure daily tasks assigned by the manager/supervisor are completed in a timely manner in accordance to the jobs allocations for the week eg. Autos/ checking the NHS mail box etc). If you are unable to fulfil these tasks, you must liaise with your senior management to ensure a correct handover is being completed.
Leave a clear handover for other members of staff who may not have been in the previous day, this would be any work that needs to be actioned, any urgent queries that may need to be chased up.
Liase appropriately with your line manager if there are any issues with receiving medications from suppliers. Ensure that you are communicating in a timely manner to ensure stock is received ASAP to fulfil patients orders and maintain high service to all that maybe effect by missing deliveries.
To attend regular meetings within the Dispensing team across all sites and engage in regular one to ones with line manager to discuss any ongoing issues and concerns within the dispensary.
