**Are you an experienced Healthcare Assistant looking for an opportunity to enhance your skills?**

**We are building a team of care professionals to facilitate the discharge of our service user from hospital, back to her home to provide ongoing, long-term care.**

**We are looking for experienced and committed Healthcare Assistants with an interactive approach, who are eager to enhance their skills in the complex care sector.**

**Whilst prior complex care experience is beneficial, it is not a requirement as full bespoke clinical training will be provided.**

**Meet Our Service User**

Our service user is currently residing in hospital and is keen to return to her home in St Albans. Therefore, we are looking to build a skilled care team to support her complex care needs at home.

She is a very sociable lady who enjoys spending time with her family and grandchildren and accessing the community.

Being part of her care team will involve assisting her in engaging with activities she loves, like arts & crafts, baking, and gardening (weather permitting), as well as enjoying music and watching TV.

We provide our service user with 24/7 care on a 2:1 basis and are looking for experienced Healthcare Assistants to work alongside a Registered Nurse to manage her overall care needs, as well as her day-to-day personal and social care needs.

Whilst Registered Nurses will play a key role in managing our service users complex medical conditions, your gained experience of supporting those with complex care needs will be greatly valued. Our highly skilled nurses will provide you with clinical training to expand your current skill set which will enable you to play a key role supporting in her clinical care.

Our service user is entirely on her care team to anticipate her needs and assist her with daily activities. Therefore, it is crucial that you recognise important indicators of deterioration, as her condition can worsen quickly.

She is immunosuppressed and it is essential that good hygiene practices are maintained to reduce the risk of infections and illnesses.

She can verbally communicate but at times, this can be limited due to her cognitive impairment. So, we’re looking for patient and understanding individuals, who can understand and interpret her non-verbal cues.

**Please note, you will be required to completed shadowing within the hospital setting and your travel costs will be covered during this time.**

**Essential**:

- 3 months previous care experience
- Personal Care
- Moving and Handling
- Medication Administration
- Pet Friendly (cats in the home)

**Experience working with the following clinical needs is desirable, however is not essential to be considered for this role**:

- Acquired Brain Injury Experience
- Knowledge of Diabetes Management
- Knowledge of Addison's Disease
- Full UK Driving Licence (Preferred for day shifts)

**Please note, our service user has specifically requested for female staff to work on their team.**

**We have the following shifts available**:

- Days: 07:00-19:00
- Nights: 19:00-07:00
- You must also be able to support alternate weekends

**Take a look at our pay rates**:

- Weekdays: £16.00 per hour (£192 approx. per 12-hour shift)
- Weeknights: £16.50 per hour (£198 approx. per 12-hour shift)
- Weekends: £17.00 per hour (£204 approx. per 12-hour shift)
- Bank Holidays: £19.00 per hour (£228 approx. per 12-hour shift)
