**Functional Skills ALN/ASN Support Tutor**
Reports to: Quality Improvement Manager
Start date: TBC
Hours: 08.00 -17.00
Pay: £25.500 pa
The purpose of this role is to promote the safety and welfare of Adults, Children, and young people who are involved in Greenlight daily and carry out support work with ALN/ASN Learners.
Key Responsibilities:
**Functional Skills**
- Timetabling learners
- Responsible for your caseloads delivering FS at E3 L1 and L2 to learners.
- Complete learner ILPs and ALN support reviews and plans
- Liaise with sector colleagues to manage attendance and progress of learners.
- Deliver good and outstanding teaching and learning across both centres (Plymouth and Bristol) and to groups of differing size and profile, as directed.
- The nature of your role requires you to work across both Plymouth and Bristol centres to meet the needs of the business.
- Conduct initial and on-going assessment.
- Have a solid understanding of BKSB and Diagnostic testing and be able to carry this out with all learners.
- Plan and deliver lessons that offer variety, pace, and challenge to engage learners.
- Use IA outcomes and all available information to personalise learning experiences for individuals.
- Adopt inclusive strategies to ensure support and challenge for all.
- Effectively manage learner behaviour and classroom climate to create a secure and positive learning environment.
- Promote and model high expectations for all learners, to establish high aspirations and confidence.
- Assess learners’ work in line with Company policy, using diagnostic and personalised feedback to drive ongoing progress toward examination.
- Track and monitor progress of individuals and groups of learners to ensure rapid and sustained progress from prior attainment.
- Identify learners in danger of underachievement and liaise with colleagues to ensure prompt, effective intervention.
- Share information about learner progress with relevant colleagues to ensure a holistic approach.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of specification, funding, and sector requirements for Functional skills

**ALN/ASN Support**
- Completing Cognasist assessments with learners
- Write support plans for those who need additional help.
- Write monthly reviews of those learners who need help and support in practical and theory sessions.
- Confidently report back to your manager regularly about any ALN/ASN issues
- Promoting inclusion
- Overseeing the day-to-day operation of ALN
- Coordinating provision across the GREENLIGHT setting for learners with ALN
- Contributing to the development and implementation of appropriate ALN procedures and systems within the Greenlight setting, including strategic effective deployment of resources and data collection and analysis, with a view to improved outcomes for learners with ALN.
- Providing tracking to manage good target setting.
- Assisting in the professional learning of staff within the education setting to better meet the need of learners with ALN
- Keeping up to date on the latest guidance and support available for ALN
- Enhancing their own professional development by liaising with the local network.
- Travel to and work from other centres as required.
**About You**:
Confident with very strong communication skills in all areas.
Great interpersonal skills, with a strong understanding of safeguarding legislations and policies.
You must be resilient and have great IT Skills including the safeguarding/child protection systems.
Skills Required:
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Functional Skills in post-16 education settings.
Experience completing Ofsted Inspections
Experience working with care experience learners and learners with SEND/Additional learning support needs.
Hold a Certificate in Education or equivalent teaching qualification.
