Main Duties will include but will not be limited to:

- Support the Senior Finance Business Partner in the planning and control of the Strategy and Corporate Affairs Directorate budget and assist with budget revisions, draft budget preparation and year end account exercises.
- Provide support to a number of branches within the Directorate, monitor budget activity and embed financial management within day-to-day work.
- Produce monthly finance monitoring reports and forecasts for the branches, flagging up potential issues to inform decision making by senior managers.
- Build and maintain productive working relationships with branch members of staff and wider Directorate colleagues.
- Manage the monthly accruals process to set timelines. Review monthly expenditure for allocated branches, comparing data on the finance system (SEAS) and identifying accruals, prepayments, and adjustments, producing journals as required.
- Monitor branch budgets including reviewing actual expenditure against forecasts and investigating reasons for variances.
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement, value for money and promotion of best practice of finance activities to non-finance staff.
- Create requisitions for goods and services for branches on the purchasing system (PECOS). Ensure receipt of good and services and validation of invoices for payment.

Essential Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

- Proven experience of financial processes including Purchases to Pay, Budgeting, Financial Management and Resource Accounting.
- Ability to analyse and interpret financial information and present finding and finance advice to non-finance managers.
- The ability to work independently, as well as in a team with the confidence to build good relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Proficient in all aspects of Microsoft 365, with an ability to produce high quality graphical data, dashboards, databases. Use of Excel for constructing and interrogating spreadsheets for reporting purposes.
- Proven organisational and time management skills to be able to manage and prioritize workloads, including balancing the needs of the regular monthly and annual financial cycles with other requirements.
