We are currently working with a number of primary and secondary schools in Kendal who are seeking additional tutoring support for their pupils. You will deliver the sessions either online or face to face and will have the freedom to pick the hours you can work.

On average, you will have a total of 15 hours of support with either one child or a small group of children. The support can vary in accordance with the child's needs, however it will usually be between 1 to 2 hours per week.

The children's requirements will vary; you will be working with children in mainstream education, children excluded from school or children with SEN.

We are keen to hear from inspiring QTS, NQTs, Teaching Assistants with Level 1-3 qualifications, HLTA certification or graduates who are considering a career within education. Ideally you will have your DBS on the update service, or willing to acquire one.

Subjects include:
Primary: Numeracy or Literacy

Secondary: Maths or English or Science

Pay scale: £20.00 - £25.00 PAYE

Key responsibilities:

- Working with small group cohorts from 1:1 - 1:6
- Creating lesson plans tailored to the student's learning style
- Assessing student progress, identifying areas for improvement and recording attainment levels using our internal reporting system
- Working in accordance with the KCSIE and safeguarding guidelines

Desired experience:

- Experienced in tutoring one to one or small groups of pupils who require additional educational or pastoral support
- Experience in taking supervision and correction constructively
- Experience working in inclusion units, special settings or alternative provisions
- Experience in working with students with SEN, children with undiagnosed SEN, disengaged young people or looked after children
