Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is recruiting for a Senior Project Controller to join the Project Controls team to manage cost control activities for a longterm key Subsea Operations project within our Specialist Engineering Consultancy (SEC) division.

The position will be based within our Staines office.

**The Role**

Working as part of a small projects team, the Senior Project Controller will provide cost control support and direction for all activities relating to this specific project. They will also support the Project Controls team, and the wider Finance and Administration (F&A) function with enhanced cost focus.

**Typical responsibilities**
- Works closely with service areas, Project Managers, Project Accountants and Billing Specialists to run cost control, finance systems and tools
- Works effectively across the project allocation to ensure that robust cost controls takes place
- Liaise with the business to develop a structure for project reporting requirements to ensure timely and accurate internal reporting
- Responsible for job set ups, including review of all documents ensuring governance in commercial, providing accurate cost and Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting to meet deadlines and project / contractual reviews
- Responsibility for the project controls mailbox and managing the business request that come through with the support of the team
- Monitor and control cost commitments and expenditures through live projects
- Attend project review meetings as necessary to provide cost control support as required
- Management of project variations
- Regular communication / review with service lines to ensure integrity in budgets and expenditure
- Highlight any unusual activity in projects to Project accountants and Project managers
- Assist Project accountant in closing out projects, liaising with project managers when necessary
- Assist Project Accountants and Billing Specialists with any cost or invoicing related queries
- Issue Project reports to the business
- Support SPCM to develop and improve regional reporting visibility and consistency

Skills / Qualifications:
**Expected**:

- Previous experience in Project Controls/ Cost control /Finance roles
- Numerical and analytical skills with an inquisitive mindset
- Experience working on an ERP system
- Computer literate with a good understanding of Microsoft Office and excel packages
- Ability to work well in a team and independently
- Must be able to meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills - both written and verbal
- Excellent customer service focus, both internally and externally
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to multi-task

**Desirable**:

- Degree qualified (or equivalent) in relevant technical or business discipline that can be substituted by suitable business experience
