Engage Talent Partners are working on an exclusive project to recruit a Buyer for our client who are an established drilling contractor.

The Buyer position will be responsible for negotiating and purchasing items relevant to offshore drilling operations while adhering to vendor contract terms. Establishing reliable lines of communication with rig management will be an important part of the role, ensuring all purchase requirements are filled accurately and on time.

Key responsibilities:

- To ensure that Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders are processed in a professional manner and in accordance with Company procedures.
- Where Request for Quote (RFQ)/tenders are obtained from suppliers they shall be evaluated and compared for price and delivery terms.
- To identify possible cost savings within the Procure to Pay (P2P) process.
- To assist the Finance department on any invoice discrepancies and if required to resolve with vendor.
- Ensure that all relevant documentation associated to the purchase is filed and maintained according to Company procedures.
- Monitor and analysis purchasing data to make accurate buying decisions.
- Liaise with Technical, Operations and Warehouse personnel to ensure that repairs are forwarded to the appropriate vendor and expedited in a timely manner.
- Advise Rig Manager, Procurement Lead, and rig/unit of any potential delays in the provision of materials and services that could disrupt normal operations.
- Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and keep up good communications.
- Communicate daily with Supply Chain department, Rig and Operations Department.
- Adhere to and implement, company quality, health, and environmental procedures, where applicable.
- Where appropriate, fully support any purchasing needs within the organisation.
