Production Paintmaker

**Duties and Responsibilities: This is a 100% ‘hands on role’.**
- Washing equipment (tanks, pumps, piping and tools)
- Loading (Charging) various size tanks from 50- 7000lts capacity
- Loading (Charging) moving and lifting pails of finished product up to 20lts
- Performing specified in-process quality tests - grind checks, wet color, viscosity
- Must be able to follow established process instructions and documentation (SOP’s)
- Adjustment of in-process material per lab instructions
- Filtration of product (loading / changing FSI filter and traps)
- Filling off semi-finished and finished product (drums, totes, bulk storage or pails)
- Labeling of containers, following established SOP, customer and DOT requirements
- Housekeeping (participate in area cleanup, 5S)
- Lean manufacturing
- Perform selective maintenance tasks / equipment switch-outs to keep the process running
- Operator must be able to follow all site and area guidelines pertaining to all functions within the plant and assigned tasks. (Examples: breaks / lunch, availability for work, etc.)
- Follow all Area Operating Procedures (AOP’s) that pertain to his / her job functions
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

**Skills & Experience Required**:

- Manufacturing, process and machinery skills.
- Training will be given to fulfil the requirements of the role but applicants must have production line experience within a busy manufacturing environment.
- Ability to understand and follow company guidelines policies and procedures.
- Labelling, quality control, filling experience.
- Commercial vehicle paint experience or tint machine experience.

**The hours of work are**:

- Mon-Thursday 07.00 - 16.00 with 2 x 12 minute breaks (one in the morning and one in the afternoon) and a half hour lunch break
- Friday 07.00 - 12.45 with a 12 minute break mid shift.
- All breaks are unpaid.
- The working week is 38 hours.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temporary contract, Fixed term contract, Temp to perm
Contract length: 6 months

**Salary**: £11.93-£12.98 per hour

**Experience**:

- moving and lifting pails of finished product up to 20lts: 1 year (preferred)
- Manufacturing, process and machinery skills.: 1 year (preferred)
- commercial vehicle paint experience or tint machine: 1 year (preferred)
- labelling: 1 year (preferred)
- Quality Control: 1 year (preferred)
- filling: 1 year (preferred)
