Learning and Work Institute is a member of Health Equals, an exciting new 5-year campaign made possible by the Health Foundation, that aims to grow public understanding of the structural factors that shape our health, including housing, income, and employment.
Underneath a headline campaign aimed at the public sits a series of spotlight campaigns, focusing on these structural factors with the aim of influencing national policy across the UK to transform health opportunities for all.
L&W is leading the spotlight campaign on work, income and health, focusing on the connections between good work, good health and inclusion.
We are currently seeking a Policy Manager to join us on a full-time basis working 37 hours per week for a 12 month fixed term contract. We are open to discussions on flexible working and eager to hear from applicants seeking a part-time position working a minimumof 0.8 FTE.

**The Role**
As our Policy Manager, you will oversee a programme to develop policy recommendations that will support pathways to sustainable work, particularly for disabled people or people with long term health conditions.
Developing a Theory of Change framework, you will map an evidence base to inform policy including requirements for new research and focus groups with target demographics.
Working closely with stakeholders, you will deliver a series of workshops and webinars to test and refine our policy proposals before engaging with national and local policy decision-makers.
Additionally, you will:

- Support communication and engagement activities
- Manage programme budgets and timelines
- Deliver the national conference
**About You**
To be considered as a Policy Manager, you will need:

- A proven track record in developing policy and influencing programmes and/or campaigns
- Experience of working with a policy, communications, media and/or public affairs team
- A record of building strong relationships with stakeholders
- Experience of delivering a range of policy and research outputs
- Knowledge of politics, parliament, local government and devolved administrations
- Good understanding of quantitative and/or qualitative research
- The ability to synthesise evidence accurately
- Excellent programme and resource management skills
Ideally, you will have experience of working in a health or employment policy setting.
Experience of including people with lived experience in policy development would be highly beneficial.
