Software Architect - PHP / Node JS / Vue - remote - £65k + benefits

Software Architect, (PHP/ Node JS) to join the software development team. The software engineering department is responsible for all software engineering activities within a key part of this vibrant tech business of distinction.

This is purely a remote role however there are offices across the UK you can refer to including London.

The core tech is PHP and JavaScript (Vue.js) with MongoDB, MySQL backends. You will take responsibility for taking business feature requests, transforming and designing these for the wider software development team to implement.

You will have the opportunity to work with new cutting-edge technologies and must be somewhat accustomed to agile software development environment.

As a Software Architect you will be an integral part of the architecture team responsible for..
- Recommending changes to existing designs to improve efficiency or performance
- Conducting research into new technologies, techniques, and approaches to design
- Creating technical documentation such as design specifications and development plans
- Recommending appropriate tools, technologies and processes for the development of scalable and software solutions
- Establishing coding standards, guidelines and project practices
- Providing technical (not managerial) leadership and support to the Software Development Team
- Validating enterprise solutions and obtaining customer feedback
- Creating enterprise software documentation
- Drive improvements to architecture standards to ensure they are kept in line with current development methodologies and industry standards.
- Consistently demonstrate and champion ESaaS & L4 behaviours
- Develop good working relationships across all departments
- Drive opportunities to add further value to the customer, team & wider business
- Seek feedback & regularly reflect on own performance
- Ensure knowledge share & best practice are common practice
- Challenge the status quo, acting as a positive role for innovation
- Ensure correct procedures and processes are followed
- Take personal responsibility for and actively engage in product, systems and skills training and development

As a Software Architect you will be expected to demonstrate certain skills in order to successfully fulfil the role. These include:

- Experience in Software Architecture for technology platforms supporting complex business engagements and engineering collaborations
- Technical expertise in PHP, JavaScript (Vue.js), MongoDB, MySQL and Docker
- Experience designing systems for high availability, high throughput, and low latency
- Excellent understanding and a good level of competency of good practice in the end-to-end processes of designing, building, testing and releasing solutions.
- Demonstrable experience of designing solutions for a fast-paced, high impacting, digital delivery environment.
