**Ben’s Farm Shop, 38 High Street, Totnes**
We are looking for a friendly, outgoing person with an interest in good food and great customer service to join our busy retail team at the Totnes High Street shop. This is a permanent role.
Fantastic customer service is our priority, so you will be confident and enthusiastic as well as efficient, fast and accurate and keen to go the extra mile to ensure customers have a great shopping experience. As one of our small team you will serve customers at the till, replenish shop displays, keep the shelves and fridges stocked and looking good, ensure the shop and public areas always look inviting, clean and tidy. You will also bake off our pies, pasties, cheese straws etc every morning ready for our hot cabinet and deli counter.
You’ll invest the time to learn about our ethos as well as our products and you’ll share your enthusiasm for great food and produce with our customers. As we are a small team you’ll be flexible in the hours you work, adaptable and muck in with whatever tasks need to be done. You will thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment and have the ability to deal with whatever the day demands with charm and professionalism. This is a role where you are on your feet all day, either standing at the till, moving and replenishing stock from the store rooms, cleaning tasks etc.
Previous retail experience is an advantage but not essential as training will be given. Attitude and behavior are more important to us, provided you have the ability to learn the nuts and bolts of the job.
An interest in food and where it comes from is important, as is having a great way with customers and the ability to work well with a team and stay calm under pressure. You will be literate and numerate and with at least a basic level of IT literacy too.
Hours of work will be approximately 6 to 8 hours shifts. Additional hours are likely to be required from time to time, such as when other staff are on holiday, so some flexibility is essential.
