Then look no further, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a fixed term Local HENRY Facilitator to deliver training to our practitioners and communities and to support the team to drive forward our 0-25 Family Health Service Model and support our building Community Capacity agenda. Our Local HENRY Facilitator will work closely with our Local HENRY Coordinator, healthy weight team and the wider national HENRY team, playing a key role in supporting our babies, children and families to reach their potential and maximise their health and nutritional needs.

Directed by the values and behaviours expected by HDFT, this interesting and varied role would be suitable for experienced practitioners who are trained HENRY Facilitators, with a passion to support infant feeding, healthy weight and promote healthy lifestyles.

This is a whole-time equivalent role to provide the Henry offer to families across County Durham through effective planning and facilitation of the Henry Parents programmes.

Working in partnership with the locality Henry practitioner, this post holder will support the co delivery of;
- Henry; In the making; Right from the start & Growing up parents’ programmes; both face to face and online.
- Henry workshops; starting solids; fussy eating; eating well for less; healthy teeth

The HENRY parents’ programmes aim to support parents and children to develop healthy lifestyle habits and a happier home environment that underpin a healthy weight.

It is a parents’ programme that focuses on preventing and reducing excess weight in children and families by supporting families to make changes to a healthier lifestyle.

This role contributes to the County Durham 0-25’s service specification in addition to local and national strategies, e.g. Obesity Strategy.

To plan, deliver and evaluate the Henry programme/ workshops for parents of children and young people across County Durham, following self-referral and referrals from colleagues and partner agencies.

To work in partnership with families using a strengths based, solution focused approach to support behaviour related changes in creating a healthier lifestyle environment.

To support the development of skills and knowledge which will empower families to progress, achieve and maintain their health goals.

To utilise Henry lesson plans and resources for the successful delivery of programmes and workshops.

To build community capacity through planning and delivery of community based activities supporting healthy weight, using partnership working with multiagency and voluntary organisations.

To deliver Henry parents programmes that builds self-esteem, resilience and emotional good health there by contributing to the health and wellbeing of families.

To work collaboratively with wider partners through community events to support and engage families in the programme.

To work in partnership with families/carers to build on their skills and knowledge to ensure children, young people and families achieve their optimum life opportunities.

To provide a holistic and flexible approach to meeting individuals identified needs through effective signposting to additional services within the community.

To develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and other professional agencies, organisations and VCS/ third sector.
