A global FMCG company based in Somerset is currently recruiting for a temporary Supply Planner to join their team for 3 months (Start date ASAP likely to be extended). This role can be office based, hybrid or fully remote (anywhere in the UK).

The Product Supply Planner will own inventory planning for UK & IRE, across both markets, in multiple warehouses, covering 700+ product codes, striving to ensure availability and understanding and driving corrective actions for variances. The job holderwill have to work closely with both country Sales & Marketing teams as well as Key Customers, Finance & the rest of the Supply Chain Team to drive effective end to end planning. The job holder will strive to deliver world-class service in terms of supply chainmanagement.

1. Maximize Product Availability:

- Carry out daily review of stock position highlighting risks and opportunities
- Ensure agreed inventory levels are maintained, placing orders on the European factories, as necessary, to ensure Customer orders may be fulfilled
- Drive action in the supply chain to bring in stock quicker through, for example, requesting changes to production plan, faster transit times, efficient booking in.
- Provide Customer Service with the relevant information to optimize & protect supply when stocks are low.
- Analyse root causes of low stock
- Work with the factory &/or Warehouse 3PL teams to put in place actions to address incidents
- Manage supply of new lines
- If applicable, manage Run Out of old lines, minimizing potential obsolete stock whilst ensuring zero gaps in supply
- Ensure availability of stock for first order dates
- Manage product listing information for Customer Service

2. Drive Efficient Stock Management:

- Minimise stocks
- Highlight overstocks, identify root causes and drive changes needed to avoid in the future
- Understand drivers for the minimum stock holding targets and implement actions to reduce where appropriate
- Minimise costs
- Manage the efficient sell through of discontinued lines, highlighting risks to support required action
- Manage the stock age profile to minimise best before issues
- Work with the warehouse/ 3PL team to ensure inventory is well managed through the Warehouse Management System (WMS), ensuring stock status & age is effectively reported
- Work with Sales & Marketing teams to ensure the quick sell through of residue stock
- Stock integrity
- Work with Warehouse / 3PL teams to ensure all stock movements are transacted correctly through Warehouse Management System & Navision. Understand root causes of errors and implement actions to eliminate

3. Reporting:

- Provide appropriate insights to customer service for correct recording of shortages within the SPM framework
- Proactive communication on service disruption to key business contacts.
- Support for business reporting in CMOS and S&OP+ using SA4 & Power BI.

4. Virtual Managed Inventory (VMI) Customers
- Manage all supply communications with Customer
- Ensure agreed inventory levels are maintained in VMI managed wholesalers, placing orders as necessary, on behalf of the customer, to ensure no out of stocks occur, whilst ensuring individual inventory lines do not exceed excess stock levels.
- Drive excellent Customer Service and work with both factories & 3rd party hauliers to address or mitigate customer service failures
- Work with Financial Co-pilots to track and report wholesaler stock levels, providing appropriate insights
