Adecco specialist Property Services Division - North is working in partnership with a Public Sector organisation to recruit for a permanent
**SHEQ Adviser** to work off their Darlington offices.
***

**Purpose**

To coordinate and monitor the implementation of the Trusts' Health and Safety and Environmental policies. The postholder will also provide advice to the Trust on all aspects of SHEQ.
***

**Duties**
- Coordinate and monitor the implementation of the Trusts' Health and Safety and Environmental policies.
- Review and amend standards, specifications, policies, and procedures for approval.
- Provide advice to the Trust on all aspects of SHEQ.
- Monitor changes to regulations that are relevant to the Trusts business and develop implementation strategies.
- Prepare termly for the Trust board, SHEQ reports, statistics and presentations related to SHEQ performance.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement in all matters related to Health, Safety, Quality, and the Environment.
- Provide regular health and safety information to sites.
- Conduct a programme of site audits and safety inspections at all sites, compiling relevant reports and escalating matters of continuous non-conformance.
- Coordinate and participate in the investigation of incidents, accidents and near misses.
- Attend contractor prestart meetings in support of the central projects team.
- Review Contractor Risk Assessments/Method Statements and visit sites to assess work for compliance to specifications.

- Experience of working within a similar role within health, safety & environmental compliance
- Minimum NEBOSH General Certificate
- Strong knowledge of legislation around health, safety, and environmental compliance
- Effective communications skills written and verbal
- Great organisational and planning skills
- IT literate -Microsoft Office package
- UK driving license

**Salary & Benefits**
- £32,909 to £35,411 annual pay
- 36 hours /week
