We are looking for a enthusiastic part time Ward Clerk to join our busy and friendly team, based on Colmers Ward at Bridport Hospital in Bridport.

Colmers Ward is a 24 bedded ward in Bridport hospital providing high quality rehabilitation and end of life care to patients in the surrounding area. The multi-disciplinary team on Colmers includes physiotherapists, occupational therapists, advanced nurse practitioners, ward Doctor and nurses and activities staff. We are a motivated, friendly, supportive team who promote a calm and therapeutic approach to care of our patients, their families and other colleagues

You will have strong organisational skills and the ability to work on your own initiative as well as working well as part of a wider team. You will be the primary point of contact for patients and staff for any administrative issues relating to the ward.

You will be required to
- Ensure medical notes are organised, scanned and filled correctly
- Report faults on the ward.
- Take minutes' at ward meetings, this is desirable but not essential as training and support can be given.
- Be organised, calm and have a helpful approach,
- Have excellent IT skills.
- Provide administrative and clerical support, while contributing to ensure an effective and efficient service.
- Act as a first point of contact, on the telephone or face to face, for patients, visitors and other healthcare professionals.

The post will require the utilisation of good clerical, organisational, communication and interpersonal skills. You will be reliable, patient-focused and have excellent communication and IT skills.

Shift times will be 08:00-16:00 Thursday and Friday, however, you may need to work flexibly to meet the needs of the ward.
