Peer Support Worker

As a Peer Support Worker you will use your experiences to offer understanding, support in linking with appropriate services/agencies, promote choice and to inspire hope and future opportunities
As a Peer Support Worker, you will act as a recovery champion within the team and an ambassador of recovery for the Trust with external agencies and partner organisations. You will be supported, and are expected, to invest in your own personal and professional development as well as supporting ongoing development of peer roles in the Trust.
The value of lived experience in supporting this population of people is understood as an integral part of this service and huge value this adds to the support offered.
As a Peer Support Worker you will use your experiences to offer understanding, support in linking with appropriate services/agencies, promote choice and to inspire hope and future opportunities. The role will include, offering support to carers (including friends and relatives) and their supporters in the community by enabling and assisting them to meet daily health, social care and well-being needs, in line with support plans and facilitating engagement with mainstream services. All work will be carried out under the supervision of the Team Manager

The duties and responsibilities of the post will be undertaken in accordance with the policies and procedures and practices of Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. It is the post holder’s responsibility to keep up to date with these policies and other documents
