**About the Role**

At StormGeo, we're seeking an experienced Aviation Weather Forecaster with expertise in polar meteorology to join our team. If you're passionate about aviation forecasting, excel in challenging environments, and are committed to delivering accurate weather information, we want you on board.

As a member of our dynamic team, you will be at the forefront of decision-making, providing critical weather support to a wide range of industries, including offshore oil and gas, renewable energy, shipping, aviation, and road operations. Your work will be fast-paced, exciting, and impactful, helping our clients make informed decisions that keep their operations running smoothly and safely.

In addition to forecasting, you will have the opportunity to get involved in a variety of tasks, including forecast verification, customer training, offshore deployments, and more. You will work closely with our global forecast centers and become part of our team of expert meteorologists based in Aberdeen, UK.

**Main Responsibilities**
- Provide aviation weather forecasting for international flights to Antarctica, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
- Deliver forecasts for flights between Dronning Maud Land (DROMLAN) stations and South America.
- Collaborate with fellow forecasters and meteorologists to enhance forecasting accuracy and techniques.
- Analyze meteorological data from diverse sources to create precise weather forecasts.
- Monitor atmospheric conditions, issuing timely updates, alerts, and advisories.
- Stay updated on meteorological technology advancements to continually improve forecasting capabilities.
- Participate in training and industry events to stay informed about trends and developments.

**Core Requirements**
- Proven aviation forecasting experience, especially for intercontinental flights.
- Cand.scient or master’s degree in meteorology, oceanography, or equivalent.
- Trained to World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Aeronautical Meteorological Forecaster (AMF) standards.
- Fluent in English
- Strong understanding of meteorological technology, tools, and research.
