**Job Title**: Civils Supervisor

**Location**: Liskeard Head Office & travel to sites within southwest

**Salary**: £35,000 - £38,000 per annum DOE

**Role Purpose**: To oversee construction works to ensure quality and compliance to current legislation.

**Main Responsibilities**: The Civils Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of associated civils works for Wildanets infrastructure in the public highway including excavation, duct, cabinet & new chamber installations, backfill & re-instatement. Co-ordinating teams of both directly employed and subcontract labour, to ensure that operational and financial targets and deadlines are met and that the works and services are implemented in accordance with the contract requirements.

**Key Activities**:
While duties and responsibilities will vary, they typically include:

- Provide Client level supervision for the civils gangs to ensure control and management of the 3rd party civils sub-contractors, on-site.
- To ensure all civils work is compliant IAW HAUC Spec
- To undertake internal quality assurance checks on civils works and identify remedials.
- Liaise with local authorities and residents as appropriate to ensure compliance with local requirements prior to and during any construction
- Provide technical expertise and be a point of contact for contractors; this includes all civils (including re-instatement) plus production/completion of associated (as-built) documentation within agreed timescales
- Make sure all quality checks are completed in accordance with Department for Transport specifications.
- Support the ongoing development of the auditing process.
- Help and advise the Wildanet team in bringing together pre-construction information and provide the information designers and contractors need to carry out their duties
- Completion of tasks as per NEC3, as specified for a supervisor role.
- Using CEMAR to report defects and site issues.
- Report progress of construction works to Management.

**Essential Person Specification**

**Knowledge**:

- Knowledge of NRSWA legislation
- Knowledge of the HAUC Spec
- Knowledge of Chapter 8
- Knowledge of NJUG
- Has a working knowledge of the Specification for the Reinstatement of Openings in Highways (Fourth Edition)
- Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Excel
- Good knowledge and experience of the Microsoft Office 365 suite
- Working knowledge of CEMAR (Desirable)

**Experience**:

- Min. 2 years NRSWA Supervisor

**Qualifications**:
NRSWA Supervisor qualification consisting of the following units:

- Unit 1 (LA) - Location and avoidance of underground apparatus
- Unit 10 (S1) - Monitoring signing, lighting and guarding
- Unit 11 (S2) - Monitoring excavation in the highway
- Unit 12 (S3) - Monitoring reinstatement and compaction of backfill materials
- Unit 13 (S4) - Monitoring reinstatement of sub-base and road base in non-bituminous materials
- Unit 14 (S5) - Monitoring reinstatement in bituminous materials
- Unit 15 (S6) - Monitoring reinstatement of concrete slabs
- Unit 16 (S7) - Monitoring reinstatement of modular surfaces and concrete footways
- BT/Openreach PIA accreditation - SA006, S6
- SSSTS/SMSTS Qualification (Desirable)

**Circumstances**:

- Usual working hours are 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, flexible working hours would also be considered
- Liskeard office and on site working
