Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust are seeking to recruit a research assistant to support a randomised controlled trial of the Community Navigator Programme: an innovative social intervention aiming to reduce loneliness and increase social connections for adults with depression in secondary mental health care.
The postholder's work base will be in University College London, where the study lead and trial manager work.
The posts will involve working with participating mental health services in Camden and Islington, and Barnet Enfield and Haringey NHS Trusts. The posts will involve participant recruitment, data collection from participants through structured interviews, and data entry and management.
These post offer an exciting opportunity for individuals who want to develop their research skills and work within a clinical environment. The successful applicants will have good research skills and some previous research experience in a mental health context, excellent organisational skills, and understanding of mental ill health and mental health services.
The post will involve recruiting trial participants from the Complex Depression, Anxiety and Trauma service (CDAT) in Camden and Islington and Community Mental Health Teams in Barnet, all of which are multi-disciplinary teams which provides care to several hundred adult patients.
The research assistant's work base will be the Division of Psychiatry in University College London, where the study lead and the trial manager are based.
You will be provided with an induction to working for Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust and a bespoke training programme for your role. Supervision in your role will be provided by the Trial Manager and Chief Investigator.

A DBS criminal records check will be required. Some travel around the boroughs of Camden and Islington and Barnet, Enfield and Haringey will be involved.
