We are looking for a Commercial Specialist to join our Procurement Supply Chain division in our Motor and Rescue Category. You will report into our Commercial Manager (for Motor and Rescue). The Motor & Rescue P&SC team covers a broad spectrum of categories including mobility provision, salvage, repair, rescue networks, glazing, and many more.

**What you'll be doing**:

- You will manage the risk of multimillion pound contracts (typically 5-15 contracts with a value of £500k-£5m each).
- You will guide the performance, value, and all management of your own allocated suppliers, delivering new results for DLG through effective management of supplier relationships.
- You will lead and pursue continuous improvement opportunities through account planning, and lead any resultant project activity to deliver financial benefits (targeted between £250k - £500k) and core customer metrics across your category per year.
- You will have a wide remit to identify opportunities and, ensure adherence to internal governance processes.
- You will lead negotiations for in-contract variations to agreements, drafting contract variations or extensions and obtaining the appropriate internal approvals in line with the governance framework.
- You will be required to provide coordination and monitoring support to the Commercial Management and operational teams in the management of higher complexity supplier contracts and relationships.
- You will work closely with suppliers to access latest innovations, challenge unnecessary business demands, manage contract obligations, recover service credits and rebates and track and measure benefits secured from each supplier.
- You will support the development of category plans through the analysis of data and the gathering of intelligence, bringing together supplier, competitor and industry knowledge, and actively work to identify and drive opportunities and strategies that deliver commercial benefit.
- You will lead the development of annual plans, as agreed in liaison with the Senior Commercial Manager and the sourcing team and lead the management of commercial relationships with the selected suppliers.

**What you'll need**:

- Solid supplier relationship management experience would be an advantage.
- Experience in project management, delivery and/or strategy development
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities
- Ability to collaborate across multi-disciplined teams
- Previous experience within Motor & Rescue claims environment is advantageous.
