**Job Title**:
Field Service Engineer

**Location**:
Regional - Field Based

**Job Purpose**:
To maintain Medical beds, Mattress systems, Patient hoists, Assisted baths and Disinfection washers in Hospitals, Nursing Homes and in the community.

Working to Service procedures in an efficient and productive manner to complete electro-mechanical service work to an itinerary, while providing an excellent after sales customer service to through effective communication and engagement. Specific producttraining will be provided.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Carry out service itinerary in accordance with Company and Service procedures,and priortising own workload.
- Ensure that all tasks are carried out in compliance with relevant statutory legislation and local policies and codes of practice including Health and Safety, COSHH and safe working procedures, reporting any incidents.
- Undertake fault diagnosis, rectification and maintenance on electrical/mechanical equipment.
- Complete and submit all relevant documentation accurately on a hand held device and within agreed timescales to meet Service Level Agreements.
- Liaising with the customer, once work is allocated giving notice of visit with an agreed date and time.
- Requisitioning of materials as necessary for the completion of works.
- Upon completion of required work, to ensure work area is clean and tidy, parts and chemicals are disposed of in line with site instructions and relevant documentation is fully completed, correctly authorised and required copies left with authorising employee.
- Maintain all tools, spares and equipment within his/her care in a safe working condition highlighting anything unsafe to the Area Service Manager immediately.Any losses, breakages or excess wear and tear should be reported to the Area Service Manager
- Support other Service Engineers within the team when required.
- Follow infection prevention and control policies to protect patients, staff and visitors from health-care associated infections.
- Ensures full protective uniform and identification is worn at all times and other protective work wear is worn when necessary.
- Following induction and departmental training maintaining a working knowledge of policies, procedures and work instructions ensuring they are implemented at all times.

**Quality System Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Build Quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements.

**Knowledge/Skills/Experience**:

- Qualifications: City and Guild/NTEC/ONC or similar qualifications in mechanical/electrical engineering - Desirable.
- Work Experience: Mechanical/electrical engineering experience - Essential.
- Be conversant with ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007, the Company’s Integrated Management System - Desirable.
- Willing to undertake training as required to obtain and develop skills and knowledge base.

**Special Features/Conditions**:

- Excellent written and spoken English.
- UK Requirements: Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Driving Licence: Required to hold a valid UK drivers licence.
- Travel: Ability to travel within the UK with occasional overnight stays as and when required.
- Enhanced DBS clearance: Required at the cost of our Client
- Due to the nature of this role, it is required that you live within reasonable travelling distance from the core area of work.
- Due to the nature of this role, there may be a requirement to undertake work outside of normal hours i.e. evenings, weekends and bank holidays and participate in the “On Call” rota.
