**As a QA Responsible Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that the following are managed according to quality requirements and procedures - Spacecraft Integration, Processes & Methods and Satellite Integration.**
**Lead and assure quality excellence of processes & products for Spacecraft Production in Stevenage.**
**Role: QA Responsible Engineer**
**Pay: £35.00 per hour via Umbrella (Inside IR35)**
**Location: Stevenage**
**Contract: 12 months**

**Hours: 37 hours per week Monday - Friday (On site)**
**Job Profile**
**Main activities -**
- **Define and perform Quality Assurance (QA) activities, by ensuring correct implementation of procedures and processes, to ensure product quality meets the stated requirements**:

- **Lead prevention and quality improvements of Spacecraft Production processes**:

- **Manage completion of corrective and preventative actions to closure**:

- **Drive the efficient management of non-conformance and Cost of Non quality reduction**

**Detailed activities -**
- **Write a Quality Surveillance Plan (QSP) and continuously maintain it in accordance with project requirements. Write specific instructions to define the inspection processes or checks. Request additional inspections when needed, such as those inresponse to a technical warning notice.**:

- **Chair gates reviews as defined in the project and as agreed with project PA (Manufacturing Readiness Review, Integration Readiness Review, Test Readiness Review, Test Readiness Board, Delivery Review Board, Pre-Shipment Review, Shipment ReadinessReview etc.).**:

- **Ensure that all related actions are implemented.**:

- **Elaborate the Key Inspection Plan and support the Mandatory Inspection Plan.**:

- **Review Production work instructions for technical integrity, regarding product quality requirements including inspection, verification points and configuration status.**:

- **Manage all NCRs within the defined scope in production using problem solving tools. Confirm non-conformances and ensure 1st closure is defined and implemented. Chair Internal Review Board (IRB) and set functional team for the elimination of theroot cause.**:

- **Ensure that 2nd closure actions are defined. Organise and chair 2nd closure reviews.**:

- **Proactively promote and conduct risk analyses (incl. PFMEA), and participate in the implementation and follow-up of preventive actions.**:

- **Elaborate audit plan and perform flash and process audits.**:

- **Ensure that lessons learned & near miss actions are implemented.**:

- **Support the elaboration and the efficiency of performance dialogue/SQCDP in the working area (schedule, daily work to achieve, top priorities, KPIs, achievements )**:

- **Provide reports as required by functional and project management.**:

- **Provide monthly report of Quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)**:

- **Deploy OES Initiatives - The company Quality improvement and cost of non-quality reduction plan.**:

- **Drive the implementation of the quality delegation initiative in the area.**

**Skills/Experience Required**
**Essential -**
- **Good understanding of Quality Assurance Role or product assurance role**:

- **Good understanding of manufacturing processes**:

- **Analytical skills and methodical approach to problem resolution and investigation**:

- **Teamwork and leadership attributes**:

- **The ability to communicate at all levels and across nationalities.**:

- **Facilitation skills**:

- **Understand and embrace quality improvement initiatives**:

- **Reporting skills**:

- **User and promoter of quality tools and methods**:

- **Organised, practical and logical in work approach**:

- **Flexibility to travel within the UK and Europe when required**:

- **Willingness to work on shift, on-call or off-site for short periods when required.**

**Desirable -**
- **Knowledge of Space Quality standards,**:

- **Lean, continuous improvement qualifications, Green or Black belt would be desirable**:

- **Preferably accredited course in quality assurance or related disciplines. (e.g. IQA / IET / IMechE)**

**Education & Training**
**Essential -**
**Degree or equivalent in an Engineering related discipline or HND with proven experience in a similar role.**
**OR**
**A recognised engineering apprenticeship with Quality or Engineering experience within the Aerospace or Military industry,**
