The Custom Cafe is a small business Diner/ Café with American influences from décor to the food. We host weekly events that include live music and dances but also seasonal events such as Easter/Christmas and Dinosaur Day party among other themed events. We are proud of our homemade food and cakes and that we are "everyone-friendly". :)

**The Custom Cafe is looking for a waiter / waittress to join our team for 4-5 shifts/week. We are a small, Diner/ Cafe in Bexhill-On-Sea that is focused on fresh ingredients and quality. We offer a variety of menu options that are customizable and made fresh while supporting local farmers.**

**If chosen, you will be contacted by phone (01424319660) to be offered an interview in person on site, please include in a message or somewhere what days would work for you to have the interview. If the interview is successful the next step is the trial shift, which will be offered on the same day as the interview. Pay rate will be discussed during interview.**

**Duties Include**:

- Greeting guests, taking orders, serving food and beverages, taking orders from customers, answering questions about menu items, assisting customers with questions about ingredients, menu items, or food preparation, cleaning, and tidying tables with a friendly attitude and or engaging enthusiasm.
- Fulfilling requests for services (e.g. answering phones to take bookings, taking payments)
- Closing the restaurant up at the end of the day and cleaning up (we have a kitchen staff who do this part of their job)
- Maintaining proper sanitation and safety standards at the restaurant and at all times.
- Working safely around food products and maintaining appropriate service skills (e.g. avoiding injury from handling money or food).
- Performing other duties as assigned by management or staff (e.g. opening, closing)

**Requirements**:

- Must be able to work Thursday and Friday evenings and weekends. (Weekend off is available on a rotation basis with the other servers.)
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to bend over, reach overhead and grasp objects with both hands or with both hands and feet.
- Must be able to work under pressure as this is an extremely busy restaurant at times of high volume.
