Job Purpose

Gallery production, in the Gallery technical team in Studio, provides on the day technical ownership of productions, ensuring confidence across all crafts.

What you’ll do:

- Provide first-line technical support acting as the key point-of-contact for incidents affecting studio operations.
- Solid understanding of production technical areas including galleries, studios, automation, remote and virtual systems.
- Set-up galleries, studios and equipment. Ensure visually and by ear that signal paths are correctly aligned.
- Configure systems technically to broadcast standards,
- Able to use VMIX multi-Cam live production
- Making a daily play list
- EPG management
- Route internal and external sources, floor vision monitoring and in-vision monitoring. Liaise with other technical areas, remote productions
- Quality control and matching of signals, colour balance and video levels by eye using the appropriate interfaces, measuring devices and monitoring.
- First-line maintenance and escalation.
- Develop and maintain appropriate comprehensive technical documentation.

- Understanding of all aspects of studio technical processes.

- Comprehension of cloud-based workflows beneficial.
- Confident to step into any studio environment.
- Monitor video feeds, audio levels, and other technical aspects to ensure the quality of the broadcast.
- Collaborate closely with producers, directors, and technical staff to execute the director's vision for the broadcast.
- Perform tasks as directed by the gallery team, which may include cueing talent, managing timing, and following show scripts.
- Troubleshoot and address minor technical issues quickly to minimise disruptions during live broadcasts.
- Maintain a positive and adaptable attitude in high-pressure and fast-paced live production environments.

**What we’re looking for from you**:

- Previous experience as a Gallery PA in a live television broadcast environment is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of broadcast equipment, including cameras, microphones, communication systems, and video monitors.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a dynamic control room setting.
- Excellent communication skills to relay information accurately and efficiently to the production team.
- Familiarity with live production workflows, show rundowns, and production terminology.
- Quick problem-solving abilities to address minor technical issues and adapt to changing situations.
- Detail-oriented mindset to ensure accuracy in labelling, organisation, and equipment setup.
- Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the broadcast schedule.
