**Job overview**:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Research & Innovation Department working for The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust, across all Care Organisations. Our research activity has expanded considerably over recent years, currently supporting over 700 research studies across a range of clinical specialties, including both commercial and non-commercial work.

**Main duties of the job**:
You will, in conjunction with the Research and Innovation Coordinators, be responsible for ensuring that the Research Management Team is properly administered and organised, allowing a supportive service to be provided to internal and external stakeholders. The post holder will also facilitate the delivery of UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research and provide advice on best practice. In addition, the post holder will assist the R&I Department in the development and refinement of R&I administrative procedures, to support research initiation and delivery. You will have experience of clinical research in an NHS acute setting (or similar). If you are an effective communicator who can work well both independently and within a multidisciplinary team, and can demonstrate excellent attention to detail, we would love to hear from you. You will need a flexible working approach and the ability to travel across sites.

**Detailed job description and main responsibilities**:
The post is key to ensuring that the Trust complies with the standards set out in the UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research and the Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trials) regulations. The post holder, in conjunction with the R&I Manager, Deputy R&I Managers and R&I Coordinators will be responsible for ensuring that the Research Management Team is properly administered and organise the R&I Office, ensuring that a supportive service is provided to internal and external investigators. The post holder will also facilitate the delivery of the Trust’s Research Governance standards and providing training and advice on best practice. In addition, the post holder will assist the R&I Department in the development and refinement of the R&I administrative procedures throughout the Trust, to support research initiation and delivery (including R&I governance).
