- The University Secretariat provides support to the University’s Council and Senate committees and manages the University Policies and Procedures Framework. The Secretariat Administrator will work collaboratively within the University Secretariat’s team to ensure an exceptional standard of service delivery in providing critical support to the University’s committees, including scheduling meetings and releasing meeting papers. They will also focus on ensuring that University policies are of an exceptional standard: reflecting and surpassing sector best practice; comply with key compliance, statutory and PSRB requirements; and are updated in a prompt and timely fashion.
- The role will have a particular focus on driving policy review, working to ensure policies overdue for review are reviewed in a timely fashion. The post holder will also work collaboratively with Committee Officers to schedule committee meetings and release papers ahead of meetings.

**Key tasks will include**:

- servicing the University’s Policy Oversight Group, including proof-reading policies, commissioning policy reviews (particularly of policies that are overdue for review), commissioning and publishing papers in advance of meetings and taking accurate notes of meetings;
- maintaining the University Policies and Procedures Register;
- commissioning policy reviews from policy owners 12 months’ in advance of when current (in date) policies are due for review;
- proof-reading policies to ensure coherency and that they are of an appropriate standard;
- ensuring policies are formatted correctly using current policy templates;
- undertaking sector research regarding policy areas as required to ensure policies are consistent with or surpass sector best practice;
- ensuring Equality Impact Assessments are completed for all policies;
- ensuring policies are promptly published externally or internally once reviewed.
