Arcas Technology is currently partnered with a UK based IT Consultancy, they are looking for an experienced Linux Administrator to work for one of their key clients on a 6 month contract.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- The role will involve creating standard RHEL 5, 6 and 7 builds and deploying them into the Data Centres.
- You will be responsible for documenting the systems, processes and procedures to ensure the environment is solid, stable and resilient.
- Business as Usual Administration of the existing Linux systems.
- Ensure systems are kept within vendor support boundaries.
- Maintain security patches and upgrades, where required.
- Provide 3rd line incident response and problem resolution.
- Evaluate new solutions and help build Linux roadmaps to feed into the broader Infrastructure strategy.
- Automation evangelist.
- Out of hours support and on-call cover.
- Ensure that all Governance and Compliance requirements are adhered to and all reporting and reviewing activities required by the Regulatory Bodies are carried out to the standards required.

**Skills & Experience**

Essential
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 and 6 (7).
- Knowledge and experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet & Ansible.
- Nagios.
- Server Hardening.
- Shell Scripting.
- Configuration with Apache, Tomcat, Java and Jboss.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good team player with an ability to work in highly dynamic environment.
- Experience in an enterprise environment is essential.
- The deployment and configuration of Java Web Applications will also be needed.

Desirable
- Gluster FS.
- SUSE Linux experience.
- EMC XtremIO Management.
- VMware vRealize.
- Oracle Databases.
- Java Web Application, HTTP and JVM monitoring and tuning.
- Python and/or Perl.
- Exposure to load balancing technologies.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temporary contract

**Salary**: £300.00-£350.00 per day
