HR Apprentice

Sleepeezee Ltd is one of the country’s leading bedding manufacturers, based in Rochester, Kent and currently employs over 300 people in various roles. We are one of only two bed manufacturers that have been granted a royal warrant and we have growth plans which will see major investment in our products, plant, facilities and people.

We have an exciting opportunity for a HR Apprentice to join our HR team based at our factory in Rochester. In this role you will be a part of the HR team, providing a reliable and efficient administration service to the team.

The apprenticeship is full time, 39 hours per week Monday to Friday and will be a 2-year fixed term contract.

As part of the apprenticeship programme, you will undertake the necessary duties and course of study to achieve the Level 3 HR Support qualification. Mode of study will be discussed and arranged upon appointment.

You will be professional, self-motivated, conscientious and have effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Duties will include:

- Drafting adverts for job vacancies
- Carry out and provide standard employee references
- Assisting in arranging interviews as and when required.
- Scanning and filing all interview related paperwork as appropriate
- Preparing offer letters and resignation acknowledgement letters
- Preparing Induction Packs.
- Ensuring all employment related documents are received from new starters
- Assisting the HR Officer to set up new starters on the Time & Attendance System.
- Work with the HR Officer in ensuring all details for new starters, leavers and pay adjustments are sent to payroll in a timely manner.
- Preparing end of probation letters.
- Issuing and processing return to work forms.
- Assist with arranging disciplinary or grievance meetings, including preparing the relevant documentation.
- Co-ordinating in-house training events.
- Updating employee training records.
