Kronospan are looking for a High Voltage / HV Engineer (SAP) to join our rapidly growing engineering team based in Chirk, North Wales.
**Salary**: Competitive
**High Voltage Electrical Engineer Duties**:
- Site High voltage distribution expert for Chirk site
- Site Senior authorised person (SAP up to 33kV)
- To maintain the complex electrical distribution and generation network at Chirk site.
- Maintain high and low voltage distribution networks using external resources, scheduling, planning resourcing and leading the teams through to completion.
- Complete planned and unplanned high voltage switching, including out of hours support.
- Manage site code of practice and high voltage safety rules, delivery training mentor and support electrical team, including dedicated trainees.
- Ensure site network is maintained to current industry standards and regulatory requirements are maintained and adhered to.
- Lead and develop site HV and LV network development, upgrades and planned replacement projects and modernisation.
- To promote a safety-first culture and be responsible for ensuring that safety systems and procedures are followed within areas of control and responsibility.
- Managing a small team of 2-3 technicians/trainees.
- Out of hours site support on rolling rota - Supporting all electrical system support.
**High Voltage Electrical Engineer Requirements**:
- Minimum level of experience required - 3 years or more
- 3 years+ experience working directly with high voltage equipment/complex networks
- Be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge of HV & LV distribution systems.
- Previous network authorisation required (private or DNO)

**About the Company**:
At Kronospan we pride ourselves on delivering “Wood Perfected” and have invested in innovation since 1897 and no more so than now. Over the last three years we have invested £300m at our factory in Chirk, North Wales and have an additional £200m investmentplanned for the next couple of years. As a result we are seeking a High Voltage / HV Engineer (SAP) who can add real value to the Engineering team and help us achieve our goal of becoming the most technically advanced panel board production facility in theworld.
The role is responsible for the day to day maintenance of all HV (up to 33kV) and primary LV distribution (up to 690v). Understanding of HV and LV switching operations, HV/LV isolations, HV fault finding on equipment such as circuit breakers, protectionsystems and transformers.
