**GENERAL ROLE DESCRIPTION**

To manage the planning and running of sessions within the holiday activities programme, including activities for children between the ages of 3 and 16. a Endorse and support the aims and philosophy of the school. b Have a positive attitude towards the children and their work and to encourage the same attitude in others. c Foster positive relations with colleagues and to encourage a supportive staff.

d Promote parental interest and understanding.

**Duties**
- To undertake administrative and pre-planning of sessions for the holiday activities programme, including liaising with external providers.
- To organise the staffing rota for the holiday activities programme.
- To provide a safe, stimulating play environment for children which provides for their recreational, emotional and physical needs through the provision of a high-quality service which meets quality targets, legal requirements and those requirements of the ISI.
- To ensure that the holiday activities programme promotes, at all times, to the public, a positive image of helpfulness and responsiveness.
- To ensure all safeguarding and child protection legislation is adhered to.

**Key accountabilities and duties**
- To ensure adequate staffing levels, and to ensure that the children are supervised at all times in accordance with the correct adult to child ratios ensuring the smooth running of the service.
- To ensure that all safeguarding legislation is met.
- To plan and deliver the holiday activities programme ensuring a wide range of activities, themes and opportunities are available.
- To work with children on the holiday scheme in actively leading the staff team, to create a quality play environment, and contribute to both indoor and outdoor activities.
- To promote the establishment of positive relationships between staff and children, which allow children to play together co-operatively, and increase their self confidence.
- With the Head of Junior School, to be accountable for the health and safety

(premises, equipment safety and storage, activities, fire drills, children, staff etc.) including appropriate risk assessments.
- To administer first aid as required and record all accidents, reporting accidents where required.
- Help maintain a safe working environment, maintain safe working practices at all times and advise the Facilities Manager of any matters which may affect safety at work.
- To ensure that all the necessary equipment, materials etc. are ordered, including food items, to ensure the smooth running of the scheme.
- To manage the holiday activities staff team and to promote harmonious team working within the values of the school.
- To review the service provided and to recommend any changes, upgrades or improvements as necessary.
- To ensure all registers and daily records are kept, accident/incident book, fire drill, complaints, repairs, monitoring forms etc.
- To plan and organise any day trips.
- Oversee bookings, record attendance and manage the collection of fees, and to keep all appropriate records.
- To lead on consulting with users (parents/carers and children) to ensure the holiday activities programme is meeting the needs of the children.
- To attend meetings and training sessions when required.
- To take appropriate steps to safeguard the confidentiality of all user information and records.
