Kingston upon Thames, United Kingdom Kingston University Full time

The School of Engineering seeks to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Electronics and Robotics with ambition, expertise and passion to be part of our academic team delivering the portfolio of innovative courses in the school.

You will be creating engaging learning material for Electronics and Robotics and will join an interdisciplinary team to supervise, support and advise on student projects and pursue active collaborations with industry and other partner organisations.

There will be an opportunity to actively support you in maintaining your professional profile - so crucial for the delivery of the courses - including by collaborative efforts and sharing expertise within the team of specialist lecturers. The details to be specified later in the process.

The School of Engineering houses state-of-the-art facilities, workshops and library learning resources at our Roehampton Vale campus and Penrhyn Road campus - where you will be engaging in ambitious programmes to innovate the field. The School also pursues academic excellence in other engineering areas such as Aircraft, Aerospace and Mechanical engineering fields with great opportunities for collaboration.

**The Person**:
The provision of high-quality, student-centred, innovative teaching on our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes will be the main focus. You will be organizing hands-on workshops, practical demonstrations, videos, and group projects to provide students with practical experience in various industry-standard software, tools, and techniques. You will participate in relevant research and professional practice, contributing to the advancement of the field of Electrical and Robotic engineering and promoting interdisciplinary approaches.

By the end of the probation period, you must have achieved the relevant level of UKPSF recognition (if this has not already been obtained). For those new to teaching, this will be through our accredited Introduction to Learning and Teaching and for those experienced in teaching, through our Kingston Academic Practice Standards Framework.

**The Faculty**:
If there’s one thing we stand for above all else at Kingston University’s Faculty of Engineering, Computing and the Environment, it’s active, problem-based learning. In short, making sure our students leave us ready for the challenges of the 21st century. Our challenging curricula and outstanding facilities combine across two campuses to deliver undergraduate, postgraduate and research opportunities in Civil engineering and construction, Electronics and Robotics, Electrical and Electronic engineering, Aerospace and Aircraft engineering and Mechanical and Automotive engineering. Join us and you’ll be part of an environment that prides its facilities - from concrete materials and geotechnical laboratories to global navigation satellite systems equipment and facilities for exploring fluid dynamics, engine testing and aerospace.

**Further information**:
This is a full time, permanent position with a starting salary of £48,251 per annum.

Interviews are expected to be held the week commencing 3rd June 2024.

For informal enquiries, please contact Damian Chapman, Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Computing & the Environment.
