**The Opportunity**
We are seeking a Company Safety Advisor specialising in the Electrical & Mechanical (E&M) Safety Rules to join the Fleet Safety team, working across all the nuclear sites. You’ll be delivering Industrial Safety governance and assuring that all sites are compliant and up to practice, to keep our sites and people safe. Ideally, we’re looking for you to have significant experience in deploying the E&M Safety Rules, ideally with an Electrical background and can help drive focus and knowledge in this area to help strengthen our arrangements.
You will support with governance of the E&M Safety Rules including Safety Rules Procedures, Company Safety Instructions and associated documentation, and provide authoritative advice, guidance and direct support to our sites.

We can offer a competitive salary from £71,101- £84,892 and you’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Nuclear Generation Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.

**What you’ll be doing**
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the development, implementation and monitoring effectiveness of the E&M Safety Rules policy and governance standards for the Nuclear Operations Fleet, to ensure that hazards and risks are effectively recognised and managed to minimise the risk of harm and maintain a compliant position.
- Critically assessing governance and work practices to identify areas for improvement within existing safety arrangements, providing feedback, recommended actions and formal reports to relevant stakeholders within the business
- Undertaking safety assurance reviews including compliance evaluations and coordinate fleet-wide improvement projects, working closely with site-based safety practitioners and other stakeholders
- Supporting on incident investigations
- Liaising with other EDF business units in pursuit of best practice approaches throughout the company and with the Regulator during their scheduled interventions throughout the fleet.
- Supporting on authorisation interviews face to face or remotely as required.
**Who you are**
You should possess significant experience of power station operations, typically gained within an operations, maintenance or safety / engineering support role, or have comparable experience gained within a similar industrial environment.
Electrical experience, qualifications, skills, and knowledge will be beneficial.
You will be able to demonstrate a previously successful track record in an E&M Safety Rules management or advisory role.
You’ll need to be willing to commit to obtaining a NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent if you don’t already hold one, and following an initial settling in period, you’ll be expected to complete a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
You must be proactive and capable of working independently to deliver both agreed outputs and appropriate responses to emerging priorities within the business.
Well-developed communication skills (both verbal and written) are paramount, alongside being an effective influencer and champion for industrial safety within the business.
