We are looking for a flexible and committed individual to join our busy, friendly team.

Ideally applicants will have NVQ 2 in Pharmaceutical services/equivalent and have proven dispensing skills; however we are committed to offering full training for the right applicant. Completion of an NVQ 2 in Pharmaceutical services/or equivalent is mandatory for this role.

A high level of accuracy, customer service, telephone and IT skills are essential, as is the ability to work both independently and within a team.

**Job summary**:
To provide a comprehensive dispensing service to all patients and clinicians adhering tostrict guidelines and protocols

**Job responsibilities**:
Prepare and dispense prescribed medication adhering to strict protocols. These prescriptions may be repeat items requested by a patient, or current items prescribed by a GP following a consultation or home visit.

Keep up-to-date and accurate records regarding all items dispensed using the practice clinical system.

Collect all due prescription charges and ensure that the patient declaration on the reverse of the FP10 is duly filled in and signed by the patient. Ensure all monies received are recorded and reconciled at the end of the day.

Issue repeat prescriptions; deal with queries from both patients and third parties ensuring excellent customer service at all times. Liaise with clinical staff, pharmacies & hospitals to resolve queries in a timely manner.

To operate efficient stock control appropriate to the needs of the practice, with the objective of ensuring continuity of supply for patients and minimising wastage through out of date stock.

Ensure that drugs are stored in an appropriate manner in accordance with the accompanying instructions. Ensure that refrigerated items are stored at the appropriate temperature and to maintain a temperature control record/logbook.

To ensure that the dispensary areas are cleaned to maintain a high level of hygiene within the dispensary and that all dispensary equipment is kept clean and is in good working order.

Using the workflow system, enter changes to medication onto the medical record.

You may be required to work some hours at a weekend for an annual stocktake

Flexibility is required to cover colleagues for holidays and sickness
