Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity to join the Macallan Distillery Experience team as a Hospitality Apprentice. Over the course of the 2 year apprenticeship you will gain SVQs in Hospitality Services and Retail Skills, SCQF level 5, WSET in Spirits and Wine, level 1 and a Certificate in Scotch Whisky. As The Macallan Hospitality Apprentice you will rotate between all departments within The Macallan Distillery Experience to gain a full understanding and knowledge of the business.
Job Description
- Ensuring a friendly and professional approach to service during breakfast, lunch, dinner and at events
- Ensure food and drinks are served in a timely and professional manner
- Learning about food safety techniques
- Develop an understanding of all menu offerings and be able to confidently explain items if asked
- Be willing to learn about The Macallan products and share that knowledge with our guests
- To assist with stock replenishment and ordering
- Ensuring The Macallan Boutique is always immaculately presented, organised, and well-stocked
- Engaging with guests in a way that inspires emotional advocacy and create intimate persona shopping experiences
- Complete all necessary work to achieve SVQ in Hospitality services & Retail skills
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and service in all Food and Beverage areas
- Practicing safe manual handling to move food and drink supplies, when required
- To ensure the food and beverage areas consistently exceed statutory hygiene levels, in terms of HACCAP and COSHH
- Stock control & rotation will follow best practice and company guidelines
- Work effectively as part of a team

To be successful in this role you have a strong commitment to deliver excellent customer service, you are friendly and approachable to all customers and colleagues alike. Quality driven with high standards of cleanliness and attention to detail you hold high standards of time keeping and a willingness to execute tasks perfectly. You have strong numerical & literacy skills and good communication skills and take a strong sense of ownership and pride. A willingness to learn and commitment to studies along the course of the apprenticeship.
