We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Market Risk SME.

Transformation and will play a critical role in advising, shaping, and optimising risk management processes related to Market risk activities. Expertise in Fundamental Review of the Trading Book (FRTB) will be essential to contribute towards the future risk working framework and as they will collaborate with cross-functional teams, analyse complex Market risk information, and contribute to strategic decision-making.

The role holder will work within the Traded Risk value stream. The Traded Risk value stream aims to develop a Traded Risk function with systems and capabilities to manage an evolving and complex traded and market risk environment which leverages industry leading analytic practices and technology to deliver regulatory models to support Risk Management strategy.

In this role, you will:

- Contribute to the implementation of market risk management strategies in partnership with the Traded Risk Management team, aligned with organizational objectives and regulatory standards.
- Participate in risk committees and forums to contribute expertise and insights into strategic decision-making processes as pertains transformation initiatives.
- Represent the transformation team in discussions with risk management, front office, and Risk analytics teams to understand business needs and translate them into actionable requirements for transformation and technology teams.
- Guide / inform transformation initiatives to enhance risk governance and risk control processes to deliver a robust control environment, leveraging technology and automation where applicable.
- Guide / Inform market risk system enhancements to ensure alignment with market risk management strategy, requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
- Stay abreast of evolving regulatory requirements (such as FRTB Basel III) and industry best practices and market trends to ensure compliance and adaptability of transformation initiatives.
Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

- Must have experience in Market Risk Management, gained through operating in a similar BAU/Market Risk Management, Consultancy and/or Risk Steward capacity.
- Strong understanding of financial products and risk modelling techniques.
- Broad knowledge of asset classes and their implications in terms of market risk
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders and delivery partners, building strong relationships to ensure consensus and influence change outcomes.
- Proven ability of managing senior stakeholders through fostering open and honest communication which anticipates stakeholder expectations.
- Excellent communication skills with experience of leading governance meetings
- Strategic thinker
