Housing Allocations Officer

**About the role**
As a Housing Allocations Officer you will be part of a team responsible for ensuring that properties are advertised and allocated in a timely manner in line with the Housing Service objective of the right person for the right property. As part of the Housing Allocations Team you will be responsible for providing a responsive and pro-active allocation service to applicants and tenants requiring general needs or sheltered housing; helping to prevent homelessness and maximizing the best use of council stock and minimizing rent loss
**About you**
You will have excellent administrative skills and have a good general standard of education. Organised, efficient, and motivated, you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ideally some practical experience in a front facing, customer service role.
You will also need to have a calm and empathetic manner along with the ability to be assertive and resilient. You must be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team, and have good attention to detail, particularly as you’ll be working within a busy office and providing valuable support to customers and colleagues throughout the Housing Service.
A knowledge of process development would be helpful, as would an understanding of power apps, power automation and Microsoft 365 packages such as Power BI and a general knowledge of current web technologies, trends and Gov.uk design principles.
