St Giles Cymru is continuing its work in South Wales supporting children, young people and families involved in or at risk of involvement in serious youth violence, serious organised crime and/or child criminal exploitation.
**About this role**
This position will be based in Swansea with frequent travel to Neath and Port Talbot. We are looking for someone that has an understanding of issues that families are facing currently. We embody a ‘whole family’ approach which involves working with the family to assess risk, ensuring all family members feel safe, mentoring young people who are involved in or at risk of gang and serious youth violence and offering holistic support to enable the family to achieve their potential and raise aspirations.
As an organisation that works with children and adults at risk we are committed to safeguarding, protecting and promoting the safety of our clients. An enhanced DBS check is required for all successful applicants.
**To secure this great opportunity you will have**:
- Lived, personal experience or understanding of the Criminal Justice System, and/or being involved in a gang or knife crime.
- Experience of working with socially excluded children, young people and adults.
- Experience of providing advice and guidance and/or mentoring.
- Mentoring Level 3 qualification (or be willing to work towards this).
- Strong IT skills, including proven experience of using MS Office in a similar work environment
- Excellent communication and impressive interpersonal skills
