**About the role**

We have an exciting opportunity within the Policy and Public Affairs Team for a Policy Officer (Prevention) to work closely with the Prevention Policy Manager to research, develop and disseminate policy positions to drive through the strategic aims and policy positions of British Heart Foundation.

You’ll play a pivotal role in developing external partnerships with experts in other funding bodies, research institutions and the scientific community to understand the needs of research in the heart and circulatory disease sector and provide support for relevant policy positions.

**Working arrangements**

This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London Office.

The use of our office spaces is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do. This may vary from time to time, so you must be prepared to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause. Most of our colleagues on blended contracts can expect to spend some time in their office each week, on average.

**About you**

With demonstrable knowledge of topics relevant to our population-level health portfolio: obesity and diet, tobacco, and public health systems and researching and drafting new policy positions as well as an excellent technical grasp of your policy portfolio, you will be looking to continually develop the portfolio further.

With a strong understanding of the ability to identify gaps and drive change you will have excellent time management, communication, and negotiation skills and develop good working relationships with colleagues.

Working on your own initiative, you’ll also have excellent research, analytical and interpersonal skills. Able to prioritise a busy and complex workload effectively and with previous stakeholder engagement experience.
