The investigation function of the Counter Terrorism Network is integral in reducing those national security risks and falls within the Pursue element of the national CONTEST strategy.

**Responsibilities**
- Demonstrate a high level of integrity whilst gathering evidence and dealing with witnesses.
- The interview of suspects, or witnesses gathering evidence in order to eliminate them from our enquiries, or to assess their involvement in the offence under investigation.
- To assist with the preparation of evidential prosecution files for review by The CPS.
- To assist with the execution of search warrants supporting the Forensic Management Team in securing and preserving evidence.
- To provide assistance to activity conducted within the Counter Terrorism Police Operations Room.
- To provide assistance to the review of digital media associated with investigative activity.
- To ensure that relevant intelligence is collected and shared with the appropriate partner agencies tasked with preserving National Security within the UK.

**Essential role based training**
- MIRSAP Principles.

**Required knowledge/skills**
Essential
- Completion of a CID foundation course or successfully completed the ICIDP plus a Tier 2 interview course.
- Experience of investigating serious and series crime and show evidence of the preparation of complex cases and the associated court files.
- Experience of Major Crime or other serious complex criminal investigations.
- Able to demonstrate an up to date knowledge of law in relation to the investigation of serious crime with particular reference to RIPA, ECHR, Data Protection legislation and ACPO guidance regarding the Recording and Dissemination of Intelligence Material.

Desirable
- Willingness and ability to complete relevant CBRN training and undertake CBRN related activities.
