Senior Care Assistant

Knightsbridge Lodge is a 22-bed family run residential home for the elderly and we are seeking a permanent full time experienced person to join our team.
Purpose of Position
To assist the Manager and Deputy Manager to secure and sustain the home for the residents, promote a caring environment through high standards of professional practice conducive to the physical, emotional, social, intellectual, and spiritual needs of our residents.
To assist the Manager and Deputy Manager in all aspects of the Home’s management taking charge during their absence.
By teaching and by example to help train junior members of the care staff in all aspects of their work in the Home.
Principle Responsibilities
Help to ensure that all junior care staff, catering, and domestic staff contribute to the best of their ability to the efficient running of the home and the creation of the right atmosphere.
Formulate the social and health care plans for new residents and carry out regular reviews keeping the necessary records.
Assist residents with their personal care needs according to their care plan.
To administer and help to control the issue of medication for which the home has taken responsibility and to maintain the necessary records in line with policies and procedures.
Help residents with mobility problems and other physical disabilities including incontinence: help in use and care of aids and personal equipment.
Answer emergency bells, the door and the telephone, greet visitors.
Read and write reports, take part in staff meetings as requested and in training activities as directed.
