The LIMS Administrator is responsible for managing, enhancing and operation of the LIMS system to ensure an efficient, reliable, and compliant system is available at all times. This includes supporting the team with training and system updates, and working with customers on their data integration needs and be the technical lead on all projects for the business.

They will provide a clear steer and direction to on areas such as data migration, interfaces and integration and management.

**OVERALL GOALS AND OBJECTIVES**:

- Responsible for all LIMS system management and support with the assistance of the IT team
- Managing system updates and version control
- Support all three laboratories with LIMS updates and training
- Management of the Live and test environment ensuring they are paired
- Dealing with internal and external customer support requirements
- Managing the relationship with AIS LIMS
- Be the technical lead for LIMS projects for the business, including LIMS portal integration
- Day to day system management, management Information, system upgrades and data and system integrity

**SCOPE**:
Developing, managing and maintaining the business requirements for the LIMS system to support our UKAS accreditation, quality of results, customer and business growth

**PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Be the technical lead in LIMS across the Alpha laboratories
- Identify and lead on continuous improvement projects and work closely with the Head of Departments, Laboratory Managers, Quality, and IT teams to implement future phases of the LIMS in order to extend functionality as considered appropriate by consultation with key users. This will require you to work alongside the teams and take joint responsibility for all aspects of allocated projects; effectively communicate project expectations, scope and goals to team members
- Contribute to the overall laboratory strategy, aiding with the planning and delivery of projects in order to manage the delivery of the overall customer strategy
- Support the Laboratory Managers and laboratory teams with regards to training on new system developments
- Troubleshooting in any areas of the system that could be improved or needs fixing along with the support form AIS
- Ensure projects are managed in accordance with agreed project methodologies and that the appropriate documentation is compliant with UKAS and the quality system.
- Identify risks involved in the projects that you are involved with and together with the appropriate individuals take appropriate risk mitigation actions.
- To carry out any reasonable duties as specified by the line manager

**REQUIRED PROFILE**:

- Qualification degree in a Scientific/Computer Science/Data/Mathematical or IT related area and laboratory experience.
- Experience and understanding of LIMS and databases
- Experience in managing client KPI’s
- To have excellent communication skills, and to be confident when dealing with external bodies
- A working knowledge and practical experience of ISO17025 : UKAS requirements
- To be able to demonstrate the ability to motivate others
- To be able to work within set targets and goals, and be able to manage expectations
- A positive and ‘can do’ attitude and ability to work as part of a team or independently is essential

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
