**VAT & TAX COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST - HYBRID WORKING**

The role of **VAT & Tax Compliance Specialist **sits in our exceptional** Finance** department where you will be tasked with looking after tax compliance across all territories of the business, introducing further controls and continuous improvement within the current processes and advising on tax and VAT implications of business initiatives to ensure the best, most considered possible outcomes.

**_ Day to day as a _**_VAT & Tax Compliance Specialist_**_:_**
- Manage he Day-to-day tax compliance (with ownership of the tax compliance calendar), core areas are as follows:

- Corporation tax pack preparation for all entities /liaise with tax advisers
- VAT and Sales Tax for UK, EU, USA
- EC Sales and Intrastats for UK, EU
- Employment taxes e.g. PSA, 1099Misc
- Customs Duties and VAT
- Support any expansion plans and ad hoc projects.
- To work with the Senior Manager - Tax & duties and rest of the finance team to ensure that key aspects of tax compliance are appropriately administered, and statutory tax requirements are submitted within the deadlines for both UK and international jurisdictions.
- Corporation tax - oversee and assist in the preparation of corporation tax packs for UK and International subsidiaries. Liaise with external tax advisers for technical assistance when required.
- VAT and Sales Tax
- prepare and submit VAT and Sales Tax returns for UK and International subsidiaries. Assist the Tax Manager in dealing with VAT queries and liaise with external VAT consultants for technical assistance and international submissions when necessary.
- EC Sales and Intrastats - prepare and submit UK and European EC Sales and Intrastats. Deal with internal commodity codes queries where appropriate
- Employment Taxes - assist with annual preparation of P11Ds and PSAs. Analyse data and assist payroll department with information requirements.
- Customs duties and VAT - monitor the day-to-day Customs Import Duty processes for Joules Group’s UK and International activities.

**What we are looking for**:

- Qualified accountant, 1+ years PQE
- Strong technical accounting knowledge
- Experience of reporting year-end tax packs
- Good working knowledge of broader regulatory environment - corporation tax, PAYE, VAT, management accounts
- Good working knowledge of core finance processes - balance sheet reconciliations, tax, VAT, intrastat, cashflows and FX planning
- Good working knowledge of accounting systems
- Strong communication skills - both on a 1:1 basis and in a group environment
