We are looking for enthusiastic Podiatry Assistant to join our Podiatry Service in Derbyshire. What can DCHS Podiatry offer you?

- We have an opportunity currently for a permanent post, full and part time hours considered. Work locations bases are available across the whole county.

To provide and undertake programmes of Podiatry care as delegated by a podiatrist to patients who have an assessed level of need.
To implement individualised care programmes for patients with a wide variety of clinical needs devised by a specialised podiatrist for approximately 50% of a working week.

are will be provided in a range of community settings, some of which may be in isolation, but always within telephone contact of a senior qualified podiatrist

As part of the Podiatry Team and Wider Trust, contribute to the development and adhere to the Podiatry Department and Trust policies, strategies and objectives.
Clinical Scope of Practice of the Podiatry Assistant
- General Nail Care
- Renewing silicone devices previously prescribed by a Podiatrist.
- To carry out diabetic assessments as delegated by a Community Podiatrist
- To assist in Wound Care Clinics
- To assist in Nail Surgery and provide Nail Surgery Post-operative Dressings.
- To deliver patient education including Foot care advice, Neuropathy and Ischaemia advice, Footwear check and advice.
- Patient preparation for clinical procedures.
- Clinical Environment Preparation.
- To be able to deliver Basic Life Support.
- Participating in cleaning rotas.
- Participate in Decontamination of instruments.
Administrative duties
- Information Management
- Record Keeping using computerised patient record system
- Changing appointments
- Caseload Management
- Nail surgery Audit
- Stock Ordering
- Undertake clinical and technical audits
