**Desirable criteria**:

- Tertiary qualifications in science or related discipline.
- 3-5 years’ experience in packaging design /development
- Experience with project managing the introduction of packaging technology and new products.
- Demonstrated understanding of industry regulations relevant to packaging technologies, legality, and formats.
- Strong project management skill set and the ability to work multiple projects concurrently.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills; able to build and manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Computer literate (MS Office, Intact, Powerpoint)

**Duties**:

- In conjunction with internal and external stakeholders, manage new packaging development and packaging upgrades from concept to launch, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and defined performance requirements and specifications.
- Assist in the development of consumer friendly and market leading packaging and labelling across all product categories - Chilled, Frozen and Bakery. Present new concepts, that are aligned to our sustainability programme, to the NPD, Commercial and Operations team.
- Ensure all packaging is ‘fit for purpose’ against performance and quality criteria, including

management of packaging trials, performance testing and assessment under various conditions.
- Identify improvements to packaging formats and capability to enhance the company’s product offer and drive operational efficiencies and cost improvement, such as lightweighting and pallet utilisation.
- Act as technical advisor on packaging compliance and regulatory requirements, including support for sustainability initiatives and claims.
- Work closely with the NPD team to update packaging to include all relevant, complaint product information.
- Orchestrate and deliver on all customers rebrand projects, packaging updates and provide a critical path to clearly show project timelines.
- Provide insights into trends and innovation in packaging technology and formats. Develop and deliver innovation that is consumer and customer relevant.
- Support evaluation, selection, and procurement of packaging from suppliers. Engage suppliers and technology partners to ensure we improve innovation and speed to market.
- Develop and enhance the sustainability and recyclability of our packaging solutions.
- Working with Engineering to ensure Packaging equipment investment aligns with Packaging component/presentations and future requirements ie Serialisation, tamper evidence etc.
