About The Role

We are looking for a driver trainer/ driver development coach to support with coaching and developing our drivers that are based at our Croydon Service Centre and associated ‘link’ points.

This is a crucial role in supporting our drivers to maintain high standards of driving whilst in our employment and aid in reducing accidents etc.

The key elements of this role include;
- Improve driver behaviour to reduce incidents, improve safety and drive to safe and fuel efficient standards.
- Carry out driver assessments on all new starters, agency drivers and drivers who may have been involved in a road traffic incident.
- Identify, review and act on telematics data, relating to RTIs and driver behaviour in conjunction with the transport management team.
- Establish a programme of driver training that covers SAFED, DCPC, induction and procedural training.
- Responsibility for managing and maintaining driver licence record checks.
- Conduct induction training and vehicle familiarisation, ensuring all drivers are correctly training for the vehicles they drive.

About You

As a Driver Trainer it is important that you are an experienced UK Driving Licence Holder.
- A full valid UK Driving Licence must be held with a minimum of Cat B and no more than 3 ‘Live’ points. Category C+E would be especially welcomed.
- SAFED Certification Holder (Safe and Fuel Efficient Driving)
- Previous experience of conducting driving standard assessments
- Experience of working in the transport industry
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of road traffic laws, health and safety requirements and working time directive legislation.
- Excellent knowledge of local and regional areas and road networks.

You will need to have a flexible approach to working hours, location of work and working environment and regular travel from Croydon will be required to our ‘link’ points in the south/south east of England.
