**Job Title: Therapies Assistant**

**Location: Jubilee School and Hampshire residential homes (based in Portsmouth area)**

**Salary: £22,000+ dependent on experience**

**Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 8am - 16.00 pm**

**Contract: Permanent**

**Essential: Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle required**

**About The Role**

The role will be based in a multi-disciplinary clinical and wellbeing team, including Psychotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy. You will be joining a dedicated team of professionals to support the pupils within Jubilee School and our 5 residential homes based in Hampshire.

You will form part of the clinical team within the school and will be working closely with our education teams who support our pupils, as well as the families of those people. This will also involve supporting the care staff within the homes and the young people within to live their best lives. You will be responsible for providing evidence-based interventions under the supervision of qualified Clinicians to better understand and support our needs and to support them to engage in meaningful activities and interactions. You will be instrumental in contributing to placement plans and delivering a range of interventions. The Therapies Assistant will work closely with the clinician team, school and homes in supporting the schools and homes commitment to both the companies Ask, Accept, Develop and Trauma Informed Practice strategies.

**Who we are looking for**

We are looking for a Therapies Assistant who has experience of working with people who have social, emotional and mental health needs, as well as other complex needs. We are looking for someone who is independently motivated whilst working under the supervision of a qualified practitioner and direction of the Clinical Locality Lead and Lead Clinician. Someone who enjoys working creatively to develop bespoke interventions to meet the specific needs of our most complex pupils and has a dynamic approach to problem solving will be perfect for this role.

We are looking for enthusiasm, initiative and excellent communication skills.

Essential Criteria:

- Experience working as a therapy assistant or in a similar role would be advantageous.
- Experience of working with children and young people with special educational needs.
- Skilled in working as part of a team
- Knowledge and understanding of working with Autistic people
- Ability to carry out both 1:1 and group sessions under supervision
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, complex, technical and clinically sensitive information to the specific client group, their carers and families and a wide range of professionals outside the service
- Excellent organisational skills and experience completing administration tasks for a team would be advantageous
- 5 x GCSE’s Grade C or above, including English and Maths
- Degree desireable
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle required
