**JOB DESCRIPTION FOR SEASONAL GROUNDSPERSON**

**Overview of the role**

To be part of the Cemetery team carrying out a range of duties during the summer months,

April
- October

**Job Title** Seasonal Groundsperson

**Hours of Work **30 hours per week

Working Hours Monday - Thurs 6.5 hours 8.30am
- 3.30pm (30 minutes Lunch)

Friday - 4 hrs 8.30am - 12.30pm

Additional hours may be available by agreement.

**Salary**: SCP 11 (Salary £19,453) £12.47 per hour

**Key Duties**:
To assist in the day to day maintenance of grounds at the City of Wells Cemetery.

To use council machinery including mowers, strimmer’s and hedge cutting equipment in accordance with safe working practices.

To be able to observe all Health and Safety Risk Assessments, COSHH and regulatory measures.

To deal with the public in a courteous manner at all times.

To attend any necessary training as and when required.

**Skills required**:
Experience of grass cutting, strimming, hedge trimming and other machinery.

To be able to work as part of a team as well as lone working as and when required.

Ability to manage own time and work load effectively to achieve work targets.

Understanding of the safe use and maintenance of relevant equipment

Basic knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and to work within those guidelines

Must hold a Full driving licence
