What is the overall job?
You will report to and work closely with the Maintenance Supervisors relating to the building fabric operations at Peterborough City Hospital, The Cavell Centre and City Care Centre. You will be responsible for providing support to the Fabric Maintenance Team in the delivery of the hard facilities management service, performing the role as Semi-skilled Craftsman.
You will undertake maintenance, routine inspections, installation, fault finding, repairs, modifications and services on the full range of equipment, services and fabric related items. Responsibilities will include:

- Making building repairs, to level of competence and assist with contractors as required
- Carry out planned preventive, reactive maintenance on windows, doors, roof, flooring, walls furniture, fixtures, upholstery MF suspended ceilings, and various types of locks
- Carry out minor repairs to block paving, drop kerbs, fencing and street furniture
- Understanding the working of, appreciating and gaining knowledge of building installations to level of competence
- Use all relevant tools and equipment and undertake cleaning tasks as appropriate
- Ensure all BMS personnel and contractors comply with Health and Safety requirements whilst on site
- Support the Management and Technical team to ensure that services are delivered in accordance with contract KPI's including contractual response times.

What do I need to be successful in this role?
- Relevant experience in fabric reactive and planned maintenance
- Experience healthcare projects would be an advantage
- Basic IT skills would be an advantage for PDA use, training will be given
- Achieved or working towards City & Guilds or NVQ2/3 or equivalent
- Achieved or working towards fabric qualifications such as carpentry, plumbing, joinery.
